Continuously updated, research-grade crypto price history
Part of the FairOnChain project, Open Price brings together on-chain oracle and DEX pool observations into a unified, transparent archive. The dataset is standardized, reproducible, and fully aligned with the FAIR principles so researchers and builders can move from question to insight without friction.
FAIR by construction
🔍 Findable
Predictable file names, a README per asset and schema.org metadata that dataset search engines can index.
🌐 Accessible
Hosted through open HTTPS endpoints with zero authentication, enabling frictionless programmatic and human access.
🧩 Interoperable
Plain CSV files readable by any tool, UTC timestamps and a documented column reference for every file.
♻️ Reusable
Per-row provenance, open-source extraction scripts and a CC BY 4.0 license make every file reusable and verifiable.
Curated coverage across market primitives
Oracle feeds
- Chainlink feeds for ETH, LINK, UNI, AAVE, COMP, USDC and USDT
- Every price round with its phase, round id and update time
- Historical backfill ready for statistical modeling
DEX liquidity pools
- Uniswap & SushiSwap V2 and V3 swap events
- Pool TVL, simulated slippage and quality flags at every swap
- Supports market microstructure and slippage studies
Query prices directly
The OpenPrice API is an open-source service that reads these CSV files as they are, with no import step, and answers one question: what was the price of an asset at time T, and where does it come from?
- Price at any timestamp, raw or as a volume-weighted median per minute, hour or day
- Explicit source hierarchy: Uniswap V3 pools first, then Uniswap V2 and SushiSwap, with Chainlink as a fallback
- A confidence score and the full provenance of every price
- No invented values: the price is
nullwhen no reliable source exists
The Open Price Explorer queries the API from your browser, with nothing to install: pick a token, a date and a granularity, and get the price with its confidence score and full provenance. It needs an API key: test keys are available on request through the contact form.
GET /v3/prices/LINK/at
?timestamp=2024-01-01T00:00:00Z
&granularity=hour
Supported assets: ETH, LINK, UNI, AAVE and COMP. Try it online with the Explorer, or self-host the API: clone the repository, point it at the downloaded CSV files and start it.
Designed for reproducible research
Market microstructure & DeFi research
Study price formation, liquidity and slippage on the complete swap and oracle history, using the quality flags to set aside unrepresentative trades.
Historical price verification
Establish the price of an asset at a given time and trace it back on-chain: the block and transaction of each swap, the round and aggregator contract of each oracle update.
Replication & peer review
The open extraction scripts and the per-row provenance (run id, script hash, node, block) let other researchers re-run an extraction and compare it with the published file.
